This isn’t my first rocket, but I have always heard that everyone should one in their fleet.  Mine is the newer release, the black colored one, but it will be painted in the  ‘70s theme, either the yellow/black or red/white scheme.  The rocket itself is the longest produced rocket by Estes, going back to 1966 (kit #K23).  It was derived by Vern Estes from the Ranger rocket.  The ranger was a three cluster payload which had the same dimensions, but separated about 1/3 the length, and obviously used two parachutes.  Vern apparently wanted to build a single engine version, and the Big Bertha was born!
